We are Anna Nella, Charlotte Mills and Rachel Wainewright, three midwives with a shared love of supporting and nurturing pregnant women, their newborn babies and families. Together we have more than 60 years experience in midwifery care.

Having started our nursing and midwifery careers in different parts of the country we were brought together 14 years ago by our desire to work in an environment which enabled us to practice a certain kind of midwifery. We worked in a team that encouraged and empowered women to create their own personal BIRTHTALE. This was at the private birth unit of The Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth, or John and Lizzies as it was lovingly known. 

During our time in St John's Wood we were inspired by amazing women, and their BIRTHTALES  and consequently were driven to provide the very best in all aspects of midwifery care. Following the closure of the unit in 2010 we have pursued careers in different London NHS hospitals, in the private and independent sector and for charitable organisations, as well as having six babies.

 

Currently we all work part time in the NHS but have joined forces to create BIRTHTALE in order to allow us to provide the personal touch that we understand pregnant women want, need and deserve.

 

Each of us have two children and we have shared the joy of pregnancy, birth and motherhood together over the last 12 years. Our personal birthing experiences vary enormously but remain, for us, the personal triumphs in our lives.
